Sophia, Mesa Veterinary Clinic and Paws N Hooves
Hello, my name is Sophia A. Sanchez. I was born and raised in El Paso where I attended El Paso Community College for two years and then went on to attend classes, for two years, at NMSU in Las Cruces. I am still currently working towards my Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. In 2008, I started my career in the Veterinary field as a receptionist at a local clinic and then in December of 2009 I moved to San Antonio, Tx where I was able to gain my experience in Pet Nursing. After a year of nursing, I decided to take my chances in Veterinary Management. I went on to manage an animal hospital in San Antonio for two years and while there, I attended Webster Veterinary Management University, receiving certificates in Human Resources, Marketing and Finance. I moved back to El Paso in October of 2012 and have been working for Dr. Starr and Mesa Veterinary Clinic ever since. I've always been a huge animal lover and I own two small dogs and a cat.
Since I was a young child I have always been surrounded by animals and had an interest in their care and well-being. My parents instilled in me a love for nature and creatures of all shapes and sizes. At home I currently have 3 dogs, 4 cats, and a snake. I have been a technician with Mesa Veterinary Clinic for over 3 years now and I love getting to work with the patients and help them feel better. Each day I am here I learn something new and it is my passion to share my knowledge and educate our clients in the best possible care for their pets.
Director of Administration
My love for animals stated to really show around age 7. I started playing to be a veterinarian and was already feeding our neighborhood stray cats and dogs. I currently have 3 dogs named Wendy (Cocker Span.), Ranger (Australian Shepard Mix), April (dachshund). I also have 1 chinchilla (Joosh), 2 rabbits (Olaf) and (Bibi Einstein) and the love of my life my beautiful "Güero" the cat. All my pets have an interesting story behind their adoption, I really can't see my life without them. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family (daughter, mom & fur babies) and going to rodeos. I'm looking forward to continuing my education as a Veterinary Technician with Mesa Veterinary Clinic and Paws N’ Hooves Mobile Veterinary Services. Every day is a good day no matter the circumstances because every day you learn something new. I love client education, it's my pleasure to provide guidance for the well-being of your fur babies. I really don't see myself working in any other place, I love and enjoy what I do
Director of Public Contact- Crystal
Crystal, Mesa Veterinary Clinic and Paws N Hooves
I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas along side my wonderful family, including our many pets. As a young girl my dream was to pursue a career as a veterinarian or marine biologist. I now have two beautiful daughters of my own who also share my love for animals. Although I was a business major, I began working for multiple animal hospitals and pet facilities throughout college. I guess you can say it's my calling! Working as a tech for Mesa Veterinary Clinic has been a wonderful opportunity for me to advance, as well as, expand my knowledge in animal care. I enjoy meeting with families in our community and guiding them to a happy and healthy pet. It is so rewarding to be in this field of work, not only do I love animals but I love being a part of their life story.
Throughout my time here I have managed the administrative and bookkeeping duties. I enjoy my administrative duties, as well as, utilizing my experience to contribute to new ideas in making the business successful. I am grateful for he opportunity to learn from Mr. Francisco Orduno and Dr. Amy Starr on how to manage a business.
Financial Project Manager
I tell my husband if I won a million dollars, I would buy land and open a rescue to save all the sick and homeless animals. I have always had a love for animals since I was a little girl, from hermit crabs to kitty cats. I really do have a strong passion to help all the animals possible. It is an honor to work for the clinic and be around all the wonderful staff members. I look forward going to work each day and helping put a smile on the faces of our clients and their pets. Helping them when in need.
I have a degree in business administration with a certification in Human Resources and last year I made the decision to change my career path after 20 years in the business field to doing what I have always wanted to do; help care for animals. I am currently pursing my associates degree to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician and possibly continue my education in receiving a bachelors’ in veterinary technology.
